Remembering Paulo F G - A Cuban Music Soul
The music world, particularly in Cuba, felt a sudden, deep sadness this past Saturday, as word spread about the unexpected departure of Paulo Fernández Gallo, someone many knew as Paulo FG.
You know, the reports started to appear, first a little here, then more there, telling of a serious traffic mishap on Havana's famous Malecón. It was, apparently, a very sudden event that brought an end to a life full of rhythm and sound.
Pretty quickly, pictures of the accident, quite striking ones, began to make their way around social media, confirming what many hoped wasn't true. This news, honestly, hit a lot of people hard, especially those who cherished his art.
